The best ranked works will be presented during Enoforum Web Conference in February 2021
More than 100 abstracts from 13 countries were submitted to compete in the first edition of ENOFORUM WEB CONTEST, a global virtual competition, organized by Vinidea, giving the scientific community an opportunity to showcase innovative Grape& Wine research to the wine industry. The winning research work will bring € 10.000 to the research fund of the main author.
This numerous international participation and interest to this initiative was reached thanks to the support from the most important organizations in the sector that care about innovation: International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV), Italian Society of Viticulture and Oenology (SIVE), French Institute of Vine and Wine (IFV), Wine Technology Platform (PTV), International Viticulture and Enology Society (IVES), South African Society For Enology & Viticulture (SASEV), Australian Society of Viticulture and Oenology (ASVO), International Association of Oenological Products and Practices (OENOPPIA), International Enological and Bottling Equipment Exhibition (SIMEI), Association of Italian Oenologists (ASSOENOLOGI) and Union des Oenologues de France.
The first screening phase of evaluation process has started: the Scientific Committee, composed this year by 86 scientists from 17 countries, will judge the abstracts on the basis for the criterion “relevance for modern and innovative wine production”. The award evaluation procedure is coupled with the definition of the scientific program of the Enoforum Web Conference, which will be held online from 23 to 25 February 2021: the authors of best ranked works, which will be announced in January 2021, will be shortlisted for the award and invited to orally present their research.
